Design inspirations

Logo and brand ideas

Starting point is the current placeholder mark: three offset panes reading as the edge of a laminated glass unit. The ideas below take that thought in different directions for a company whose products are fire resistant glass and ballistic glass. All marks are drawn as simple vector shapes so they will scale from a favicon to signage.

Marks

Each idea is shown on white, on dark jade, and at small sizes to check it still reads as an icon.

  • Current placeholder

    Laminated edge

    The current placeholder. Three offset panes suggest a multi-layer glass unit. Simple, but the parallelograms could be read as a generic 'stack' icon.

  • Idea 1

    Shield pane

    A single pane of glass cut as a shield. Says 'security' immediately, and the diagonal highlight keeps it reading as glass rather than a badge.

  • Idea 2

    Layered J

    The company initial built from stacked layers, borrowing the laminate idea from the placeholder. Works as a monogram on its own and next to the wordmark.

  • Idea 3

    Three-shot triangle

    Taken straight from BS EN 1063: three controlled shots into a 120 mm triangle, stopped by the pane. A quiet nod that specifiers in the ballistic market will recognise.

  • Idea 4

    Fire and glass

    A pane with a flame held on one side and a calm, clear edge on the other: integrity and insulation in one shape. Covers the EI range without a literal fire icon.

  • Idea 5

    Cross-section

    A circular cut through a glass unit showing glass, interlayer and polycarbonate bands. Technical and honest about what the product is.

  • Idea 6

    Hexagon glazing

    A hexagon, the shape of a bolt head and of armour, split by a pane. Reads as engineered and secure; the negative-space pane keeps the glass idea front and centre.

  • Idea 7

    JG monogram

    A square badge with J and G interlocking. Suits stamps, glass etching and document footers. Less about the product, more about a mark of quality.

  • Idea 8

    Open frame

    Two offset frames, one solid and one outlined, suggesting a glazed screen seen in perspective. Calm, architectural, and works well etched onto glass.
